Danny Green rips Spurs for firing announcer who allegedly cheated on GF with player’s sister

The San Antonio Spurs hit the news cycle recently after firing one of their announcers for allegedly cheating on his girlfriend with a player’s sister. It’s a situation that is seemingly not sitting well with former Spurs forward Danny Green, as he called out the organization for its decision.

In the latest episode of “No Fouls Given,” Green began his comments by stating that he loves the way the Spurs tend to run the franchise. He credited the team for operating with high standards that do not put up with any kind of drama. However, the former 15-year veteran believes San Antonio made the wrong decision in firing announcer Jacob Tobey over his cheating allegations. Green explained his thought process thoroughly.

“First and foremost, I want to say I love everything the Spurs do and how they operate as an organization,” Green said. “They run a tight ship, they don’t deal with no BS, and they don’t like drama. So I understand certain issues they’re going to be like, ‘No, we can’t allow this.’ To me, this was not one of those issues.

“With social pictures, we don’t know what the timetable of it was, if [Tobey] was with this girl or not, or if he was even dating his girl at the time while he was with this girl. This girl could have made it up, and she hacked this, you know, social media, and she wanted to ruin his life, and you allowed that to happen. He’s a really good dude, great person. I thought this was a foul. I’m not happy about it, really disappointed in this decision.”

Danny Green is not the only individual who feels this way. Famed sports analyst Colin Cowherd also questioned the Spurs’ decision, and even suggested that the fired announcer should consider hiring a lawyer.
