Dak Prescott’s message to Cowboys’ Quinnen Williams about breaking playoff barrier

With the Dallas Cowboys in the midst of minicamp, the team is looking to prepare for the 2026 season and make some major noise in the NFC East and in the conference. As the Cowboys enter the second year under head coach Brian Schottenheimer, Prescott would speak on reaching the playoffs for teammate Quinnen Williams.

While Dallas missed out on the playoffs in Williams’ first year with the team, he has yet to know what a playoff atmosphere is like, coming from the New York Jets, who had their own struggles when he was with the franchise. However, Prescott would send a message to Williams, saying that while he’ll get him to the postseason, the defensive tackle needs to help them win when they get there, via Joseph Hoyt,

“Dak Prescott said that Quinnen Williams reminded the team that he’s been in the league seven years and hasn’t made the playoffs,” Hoyt wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

“I told him I’ll get you to the playoffs, but I need you to go help us win it,” Prescott said.

Because Williams was traded in-season to the Cowboys, he is in the midst of his first minicamp, expressing how “fun” it has been, according to the team’s website.

“Being with the organization a full offseason, seeing how things work, how things go here — getting the chance to work with some great people, and some great guys in the locker room. We get to learn more about each other, and get to push each other, hold each other accountable, and just grow and learn as a player myself,” Williams said.

At any rate, Dallas looks to improve after finishing with a 7-9 record, with Week 1 of the upcoming season on Sunday, Sept. 13, against the New York Giants.
