Cowboys’ DeMarvion Overshown hires Micah Parsons, George Pickens’ agent

Dallas Cowboys linebacker DeMarvion Overshown has hired prominent agent David Mulugheta ahead of the 2026 NFL season, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Sunday. Overshown joins a client list that already includes George Pickens and former Cowboys pass rusher Micah Parsons, who was traded to the Green Bay Packers after contract tensions.

A third-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, Overshown is entering the final year of his rookie deal. A torn ACL suffered in training camp kept him out for his entire rookie season, setting an injury-heavy tone early in his career. He returned in 2024, appearing in 13 games with 12 starts and producing 90 tackles, five sacks, four pass breakups, one interception, one forced fumble, with the interception returned for a touchdown.

However, durability has remained a concern. Overshown suffered another major knee injury in Week 14 of the 2024 season, tearing his ACL, MCL, and PCL. That injury delayed his 2025 debut until midseason, and he finished with six games played (five starts), recording 28 tackles and one tackle for loss.

The timing of Mulugheta’s hiring is far from incidental, considering his recent history with Dallas. Owner Jerry Jones has historically preferred negotiating directly with players rather than agents, a stance that contributed to disputes like Parsons’ eventual departure. Through his franchise tag negotiations, Pickens was also represented by Mulugheta, with the receiver expected to sign a one-year, $27 million deal after a career-best season.

Overshown’s move can be read as preparation for contract negotiations in 2027. With his rookie contract expiring after the 2026 season, his market value will largely depend on availability and performance. Over his last two active seasons, he has garnered 118 tackles and five sacks, but has missed significant time due to repeated knee injuries.

The Cowboys are expected to evaluate his health and consistency throughout 2026 before committing to any long-term extension.
