Conor Benn vs Regis Prograis betting tips: Bet £10 on our tips and get £30 in free bets

Conor Benn takes on Regis Prograis as the co-main event on the Tyson Fury vs Arslanbek Makhmudov card at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday in what should be a good test for Benn.

The Destroyer is fighting for the first time since his victory over Chris Eubank Jr in their rematch and also since his split with Eddie Hearn and Matchroom.

Prograis is a former world champion at super lightweight, so Saturday’s bout at a catchweight of 150lbs is a significant step up in weight for the American, while Benn is effectively coming down from middleweight after his pair of classics against Eubank.

Conor Benn vs Regis Prograis betting tips

  • Over 5.5 rounds @ 4/5
  • Conor Benn to win by decision or technical decision @ 3/1

No early finish for Benn

Benn comes into the bout as the huge favourite at 1/12, with Prograis a 13/2 underdog. The British star should avoid an upset loss, but the American veteran has perhaps been underestimated and he can make this more of a challenge for Benn than the prices suggest.

Prograis is stepping up in weight and is now 37 years old, but in terms of experience he is way ahead of Benn. Rougarou has a 30-3 record and has previously held a world title at super lightweight, he’s also faced elite level opposition and went the full distance with a prime Josh Taylor earlier in his career.

Benn’s last four fights have all gone the full distance (W3, L1) and he has a fairly modest stoppage rate with 14 of his 24 victories coming inside the distance. He also hasn’t stopped anyone at world level previously and Prograis still fits in that bracket even if he isn’t quite the force he once was.

Benn should win and he may become the first man to stop Prograis, but he is unlikely to take out the experienced southpaw early, so backing over 5.5 rounds looks a decent starting point.

Benn might need the judges

The general feeling is that Prograis has been selected as an opponent in order to make Benn look good, but the veteran American may be able to make life tough for the Destroyer.

Prograis has never been stopped and recovered from knockdowns to reach the final bell in defeats to Devin Haney and Jack Catterall in 2023 and 2024.

Benn clearly carries some power, but there is a question over whether he needs the fight to readjust to his more natural weight after two outings at middleweight and he may struggle to break down a durable and experienced opponent this weekend.

Benn’s workrate and natural size advantage gives him a platform for victory and he can avoid an upset, but he may need the full 10 rounds and the judges to overcome Prograis in London on Saturday.
