Conor Benn lands world title fight against Ryan Garcia with date and venue confirmed
The long-mooted fight between Ryan Garcia and Conor Benn is finally official.
Garcia will defend his WBC welterweight title against mandatory challenger Benn on September 12 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Garcia-Benn had been on rocky waters for a time after ‘King Ry’s’ promoter, Golden Boy, issued Zuffa Boxing and TKO with a cease-and-desist order last month.
Golden Boy chief Oscar De La Hoya claimed that negotiations had been conducted behind his back.
But a few weeks later the legendary six-weight world champion confirmed that contact had been made.
There was a separate issue regarding the broadcaster, with Golden Boy claiming that the fight was in violation of its streaming partnership with DAZN.
Those differences have since been ironed out, with DAZN set to exclusively broadcast the event in the UK and Ireland.
The rest of the world will, meanwhile, be picked up by Paramount+.
Garcia and Benn meet on Mexican Independence Day Weekend after Canelo Alvarez‘s world title shot against Christian Mbilli was moved to October to make way for the blockbuster showdown.
Garcia (25-2) picked up the WBC welterweight title with a lopsided unanimous decision victory over Mario Barrios in February to bounce back from defeat at the hands of Rolly Romero.
The Benn fight marks his first defence of the green and gold strap.
Benn (25-1) shocked the boxing world in February by leaving long-time promoter Matchroom for Zuffa Boxing fresh off a revenge win over Chris Eubank Jr.

Both of his bouts with Eubank Jr took place at middleweight.
He then dropped down to a 150lbs catchweight for his first outing under the Zuffa banner in April against Regis Prograis on the Tyson Fury vs Arslanbek Makhmudov undercard.
While Benn picked up a unanimous decision victory over the ageing former world champion, his performance left a lot to be desired.
He now has the opportunity to put his detractors to bed once and for all with a statement-making display against Garcia in his first world title fight.
Benn has not competed at welterweight (147lbs) since his second-round stoppage victory over South Africa’s Chris Van Heerden in April 2022.
