Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor secured the bag on Thursday after agreeing to a two-year contract extension worth $42 million.

Taylor had been negotiating for a competitive deal after another impressive campaign, which saw him tally 323 carries for 1,585 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Taylor’s new contract.

“The Colts and star RB Jonathan Taylor have agreed to terms on a big-time two-year, $44 million extension, per me and Adam Schefter. $47M is the max, with $39 million guaranteed,” wrote Rapoport.

“The largest third contract for a RB ever and one of the highest paid ever.”

The massive agreement came on the heels of Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson signing a three-year contract extension worth $75 million. He became the highest-paid running back in league history.

Taylor was named to the Pro Bowl for the third time last season.

More details to come.
