Collin Gillespie to sign $48 million contract with Suns
The Phoenix Suns and Collin Gillespie had a mutually beneficial relationship that culminated in a four-year, $48 million contract, according to Shams Charania of ESPN on Sunday.
After Gillespie originally signed with Phoenix in the 2024-25 season as a two-way player, he made the most of it. He earned a role within the rotation and was one of the highlights of an underwhelming team.
Fast forward one season, and he was thrown into an interesting predicament: becoming a starter. Once Jalen Green suffered a nagging hamstring injury, he played alongside the starting unit and fit like a glove.
Although he may be undersized, there was always a tenacity and a knack for knocking down the 3-point shot. This is the first domino to fall in the Suns’ free agency.
We will update this story with more details.
