Coco Gauff’s brother wows scouts as gifted athlete prepares to enter college in different sport

Coco Gauff may just be the tip of the iceberg.

The American tennis sensation begins her Wimbledon campaign against Germany’s Tamara Korpatsch.

SW19 is the scene of her initial breakthrough, when the then 15-year-old prodigy beat Venus Williams in 2019.

Dad Corey was a D1 hooper at Georgia State and also coached his daughter, while mom Candi was a track and field star at Florida State.

Those genes clearly made it to her eldest daughter, who is now a two-time major champion, and it looks like younger brother Codey is next off the family production line.

Born in 2007, the baseball standout has committed to the University of Missouri.

MLB Pipeline described him as a switch-hitting catcher and shared some clips of him at the recent MLB Draft Combine, where he put on a show in front of scouts.

One fan joked that the 18-year-old clearly owes his talent to mom Candi, which drew a brilliant reaction from Corey.

“Damn,” he posted on Instagram, perhaps knowing the claim was true.

Gauff watched Codey sign for the Mizzou Tigers in 2025 and shared a proud sister moment.

“Signing day for my lil bro

“So proud of you. Go be great, My GOAT, my inspiration, my reason, my first friend. I love you! Proud of you!#D1,” she wrote alongside a snap of them together.

“My goat, love you,” she added elsewhere.

Youngest sibling Cameron is reportedly a talented multi-sport athlete.

He often cheers on big sis from her player’s box and also helped her design a sneaker line.

Coco Gauff’s love-hate Wimbledon relationship

Since her Wimbledon breakthrough, Coco has struggled on grass.

She was turfed out in the first round last year — a shock the 22-year-old is determined to avoid repeating.

“We don’t have the best relationship,” she admitted. “But, no, I always have fond memories on the grass.

“I obviously had a couple fourth rounds here. I definitely think that I have the ability to play on it. I think it’s more about the confidence.

“Also, I’m not going to lie, I haven’t had the best draws here at Wimbledon. I think that’s also been tough.

“Yeah, something that I’m learning to play on. I don’t think it’s a natural surface for me, but we’re going to make it natural.”

Serena Williams is playing 20-year-old Maya Joint, and Coco had some words of the advice for the young Australian on playing a tennis icon.

“When I was in that position, I didn’t look at scoreboard the whole match,” she said. “I did not want to see Venus’s name. No matter how much you try to block it out, I feel like once you see the name, it makes everything seem real. Maybe don’t look at the scoreboard.

“Also you have to go in with the belief you can win and expect that they’re going to play great tennis now.

“It’s different. We haven’t seen Serena play in many years so there’s not really much of a scouting report you can go off of. I definitely think she has to go in it believing she can win. We haven’t seen her play. I don’t know how the match is going to be.

“Anyone playing a Williams sister – I don’t know what court they’re going to be on, I’m sure it’s going to be Centre or Court 1 – it’s not going to be easy.”
