Coby White’s 3rd quarter buzzer-beater in Hornets-Heat has fans feeling bad for Bulls
Coby White faced his former teammates on Tuesday as the Charlotte Hornets hosted the Miami Heat at Spectrum Center for the Play-In Tournament.
It was a tight contest from the get-go for the ninth-seeded Hornets and the 10th-seeded Heat as the latter only held a two-point lead at halftime, 54-52.
Charlotte woke up in the third quarter and outscored Miami, 37-29, punctuated by White’s buzzer-beater from a few steps outside the three-point line. He was unbothered by the outstretched arms of Simone Fontecchio as he let it fly.
White scored the Hornets’ last 11 points in the third period.
He had the fans feeling bad for the Chicago Bulls after his gutsy shot.
“Why did the Bulls get rid of Coby White again?? I mean, it’s just perplexing,” said @donnielovebears.
Coby White for Collin Sexton is not a good trade, especially with Sexton contract costing $30 million more,” added @clarkcashes.
“Remember when the Chicago Bulls gave up Coby White for nothing?” asked @Beebzzmth.
“Do I finally see Coby White thriving in the postseason on a team that ISN’T the Bulls?” posted @P2Gintoki.
“Really happy for Coby White, but another example of malpractice by the Chicago Bulls,” commented @CalebFC18.
White has been linked to trade rumors over the past few years before the Bulls finally shipped him, along with Mike Conley Jr., in February in exchange for Sexton, Ousmane Dieng, and multiple second-round picks.
White instantly pushed the Hornets to another level, providing them with instant offense off the bench.
As of writing, Charlotte is down by a slim margin to Miami in the fourth quarter.
