Chicago bans Enes Kanter Freedom from home games

Following the incident with guard Natasha Cloud on Saturday, the Chicago Sky have banned Enes Kanter from future home games. Sky majority owner Michael Alter confirmed the decision in comments to The Athletic on Tuesday afternoon.

Alter also said that while cancer is banned he could potentially regain the ability to attend the games as they could reconsider their stance if he demonstrates that he’s capable of attending a game in their arena.

“As far as a lifetime ban, if someday he’s able to demonstrate he’s capable of being at a game and conducting himself in compliance with our rules and not be a threat to people, might we reconsider?” Alter said. “I suppose it’s possible.”

This comes after the former NBA center attended the Sky’s matchup versus the Indiana Fever on Sunday with a shirt that read “WOMAN noun. adult human female.”

Following a score in the third quarter, Cloud and Kanter got into a verbal altercation that led to cancer being escorted out of the arena. Cloud then took to her Threads account to respond to what occurred.

“To every trans kid/person, You are apart of MY community & tribe. You belong. You’re loved. You’re seen. You’re perfect as you are. & you will always be protected by me.“

In an interview on Fox News with host Laura Ingram, Kanter gave his side of the story, saying that Cloud decried his support of Fever forward Sophie Cunningham.

“She yelled at me, ‘She’s not gonna sleep with you.’” He said of the moment on Monday,
