Jockey Mark Walsh will be back on board, after winning the 2025 race by nine lengths and navigated the gelding to his first Cheltenham win in the 2024 Novices’ Steeple Chase.

The Willie Mullins-trained will be ridden once again by Mark Walsh, and the 6-year-old is partaking in the Cheltenham Festival for the third time.

Fact to File has previous Festival nous, and arrives into the 2026 meeting off the back of a five lengths, first-placed finish in the Irish Gold Cup Chase at Leopardstown in February.

He comes in as a front runner, in a competitive field that features Grade 1 winner Banbridge and the Nicky Henderson-trained Jonbon, second in the 2025 Champion Chase, and arrives with two Grade 1 wins on the bounce.

But, by opting out of the Gold Cup, the winning machine of Mullins’ yard will be confident his runner can go the distance again and defend his title in 2026.
