Charles Barkley takes disrespectful shot at Cavaliers amid Game 4 blowout
Charles Barkley unleashed on the Cleveland Cavaliers while they significantly underperformed throughout Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the New York Knicks on Monday night.
Cleveland has been through a long playoff journey, surviving back-to-back seven-game series in the first two rounds. However, this came back to bite them as fatigue set in this series. They were unable to keep up with the Knicks’ firepower on both sides of the ball, which had them down 3-0 going into Game 4.
Barkley hoped that Cleveland would fight to keep its season alive by defending homecourt. However, they ended up trailing 68-49 at halftime, resulting in him calling them out during the Inside the NBA halftime show.
“Kids at home, if you want to see what the word ‘quit’ means, to give up, the verb of that is Cavaliers.”

How Cavaliers played against Knicks
Charles Barkley was right to criticize them for their performance. However, it was clear that the Cavaliers ran out of gas as the Knicks blew them out in Game 4 to end the East Finals series.
New York’s offense fired on all cylinders, scoring 30 or more points throughout each of the four quarters. As for Cleveland, they turned the ball over too many times to have a chance at making a rally and forcing a Game 5. Due to this, their 2025-26 campaign comes to an official close.
Four players scored in double-digits for Cleveland in the season-ending loss. Donovan Mitchell led the team with 31 points, four rebounds, one assist, and one steal. He shot 9-of-18 from the field, including 5-of-9 from beyond the arc, and 8-of-10 from the free-throw line. Evan Mobley came next with 15 points and seven rebounds, James Harden had 12 points and four rebounds, while Thomas Bryant provided 10 points and three rebounds.
The Cavaliers finished the regular season with a 52-30 record, making their first East Finals since 2018. However, they have questions to answer in free agency, especially with the most expensive payroll in the league.
