Carmelo Anthony’s podcast co-host has Knicks fans coming up with names for a Landry Shamet sandwich

On Saturday evening, the New York Knicks took a commanding 3-0 lead in their Eastern Conference Finals series against the Cleveland Cavaliers and now sit just one win away from a trip to the NBA Finals. The Knicks got a well-rounded scoring effort in this one, with Landry Shamet coming off the bench to hit four threes and finish with 14 points.

After the game, Kazeem Famuyide, who is a co-host of Knicks legend Carmelo Anthony on the “7pm in Brooklyn podcast,” floated a hilarious idea on X, formerly Twitter.

“Landry Shamet gonna have a sandwich named after him,” he wrote.

Needless to say, fans in the comment section had ideas.

“The ‘Landry Shamwich’ does have a nice ring to it lol,” wrote one fan.

“Sham and Cheese,” wrote another.

Shamet has had some big moments for the Knicks during this playoff run, including in Game 1 of this Eastern Conference Finals series, in which he had a shot bounce around the rim and fall through the net in the final minute to tie the game and help New York complete a 22-point comeback in the fourth quarter.

Many theorized that the choke job from the Cavs would end any realistic chance they had of winning this series, and that has proven to be correct up to this point, with the Knicks largely dominating Games 2 and 3 since then.

Of course, closeout games are typically the hardest, but that hasn’t been the case for the Knicks during this playoff run, as they eliminated the Atlanta Hawks in the first round with an astonishing 51-point win, and settled for a 30-point victory against the Philadelphia 76ers in Game 4 two weeks ago.

The Knicks will look to punch their ticket to the NBA Finals on Monday evening in Cleveland.
