Cameron Boozer’s brother Cayden announces Duke basketball return despite Elite Eight choke

The Duke basketball program is still reeling from their shocking loss to the UConn Huskies in the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament. The Blue Devils dropped that game with a series of crucial late-game mistakes, including a turnover from Cayden Boozer in the closing seconds that resulted in a three from UConn.

Now, Boozer has made a big decision regarding his future with the Duke basketball program.

“Cayden Boozer announced Thursday that he would return for a sophomore season with @DukeMBB,” reported Duke Basketball on X, formerly Twitter.

Boozer announced the news on his Instagram page, and will be looking to make amends for the tough mistakes in the loss vs the Huskies.

Meanwhile, Boozer’s twin brother, Cameron Boozer, is widely expected to take his talents to the upcoming NBA Draft, where he is projected by many to be among the top three or four prospects on the board, and could very well go number one overall, depending on who gets the top pick.

Duke will certainly need to adjust some of its game plan next season without their best player in the mix, but they still have a solid piece in Cayden Boozer, who, despite the setback against UConn, showed off plenty of talent and potential during his freshman season with the program.

Boozer doesn’t have the same style of play as his brother, usually opting to play more on the perimeter, and it will be interesting to see how his game adjusts next season in his second year with the team.
