After the contest was over, Megill revealed exactly what led to the on-field argument. The 32-year-old right-hander claimed the Blue Jays called him out for rubbing the baseball on his pants between pitches, according to Hunter Baumgardt of Fox Sports 920 Milwaukee. Megill responded, claiming he didn’t have any substances on his pants, which led to the heated exchange between the two sides.

MLB may look into the Blue Jays’ complaints, as pitchers are not allowed to use any form of substance or sticky stuff during games. However, Trevor Megill seems adamant he wasn’t using anything of the sort.

Either way, this performance was a nice turnaround for the six-year veteran, as Megill has had a rough start to the 2026 campaign. He ended the contest with two strikeouts while allowing zero hits, walks, or earned runs. His ERA is inflated at 14.40 through six mound appearances right now, which will come back down to earth as the season progresses. He also owns a 2.400 WHIP with five strikeouts and three saves through 5.0 innings pitched.
