Brewers pitcher Jacob Misiorowski trails only Spencer Strider with 200-strikeout feat
The Milwaukee Brewers are currently facing the Minnesota Twins. Jacob Misiorowski is on the mound for the Brewers. The Miz has been amazing for the Brewers this year. He is also mowing through the Twins lineup so far on Sunday. In just four innings, he struck out eight batters.
With his fifth strikeout of the game, Misiorowski made it to 200 strikeouts on the season, becoming the first player in the majors to reach that feat this year. He also joined an exclusive list of pitchers, according to Sarah Langs of MLB.com.
The Miz reached 200 strikeouts in 129 and one-third innings of work. That is the second fastest to reach the 200-strikeout mark in MLB history. Spencer Strider reached 200 strikeouts in 2023 in 123 and one-third innings of work. Strider is also the third quickest to make it to the mark, reaching 200 K’s in 130 innings in 2022. The previous record, before Strider broke it in 2022, was held by Randy Johnson in 2001. Johnson needed 130 and two-thirds innings to make it to 200 strikeouts.
Misiorowski has been dominant this year and could be on his way to a Cy Young. He is 11-5 on the year with a 1.63 ERA and a 0.73 WHIP. His ERA, strikeouts, and WHIP are all the best marks in the majors. The Miz broke into the majors in 2025, going 5-3 with a 4.36 ERA and a 1.24 WHIP in 2025, before breaking out this year.
The Brewers are 73-44 on the year, which gives them the best record in the majors this year. The Brewers currently lead the Twins 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth, as Misiorwski has gone five innings, giving up just three hits, one run, and striking out eight.
