Brewers’ Kyle Harrison leaves Giants in shambles after shoving against former team

When Kyle Harrison toed the slab on Tuesday night against the San Francisco Giants, he knew that he was going to shove against his former team. Harrison has been very good for the Brewers this season and proved it yet again with a 12-strikeout game at home.

Last season, Harrison was traded to the Boston Red Sox as part of the Rafael Devers trade. Boston would later flip him to the Brewers for Caleb Durbin. That trade has been completely one-sided thus far.

Against his former team, Harrison pitched 5.2 innings, allowing one run, four hits, and two walks. Devers finished 0-5. Harrison mentioned his confidence is much higher in Milwaukee.

Here is what the southpaw said after the game about pitching against the Giants.

“It’s always going to feel personal, I mean, I grew up forty minutes from that ballpark,” Harrison said when asked if it was more than just ‘another game.’ “I had a great time there and cherish my memories with them. Yeah, it feels good, but I gotta go do it again in five days. You can’t get caught up in that. It was fun to toe the rubber against them, though.”

Harrison has quietly been one of the better starters in 2026. He is 7-1 on the season and 4-1 at home. He owns a 1.57 ERA, 1.03 WHIP, and has 73 strikeouts in 57.1 innings. One of the better stats is that he has walked only 16 hitters this season. Before the start against the Giants, he went three straight outings without a run allowed, reaching 18 scoreless innings in those games and 23 innings in total before allowing the solo homer to Willy Adames.
