Braves’ Ronald Acuna Jr. trolls Phillies fans with clutch game-tying HR

The Atlanta Braves were down for most of Sunday’s contest against the Philadelphia Phillies. However, Ronald Acuna Jr. came to the rescue with some late-game heroics after blasting a game-tying three-run home run.

After going yard, the 28-year-old outfielder trolled Phillies fans by watching his ball go over the fence before finally rounding the bases. He even taunted the crowd while approaching second base, which led to loud boos from the opposing fanbase.

Acuna took it a step further after finally reaching home base and going back into the Braves dugout. He stepped back onto the field for a curtain call, which is typically only done in front of a player’s home crowd, and waved a jeering Phillies fans. He waved ate everybody with a cheesy grin on his face.

It was another opportunity to troll, not just the fans, but the entire Phillies organization. Ronald Acuna Jr. rubbed pitcher Zack Wheeler the wrong way in Saturday’s 4-2 loss during his home run trot. It does not appear that the 2023 NL MVP has many fans in Philadelphia, and he doesn’t care in the slightest.

After his three-run blast tied Sunday’s matchup, the Braves managed to score another run in the top of the ninth, giving the club a late-game lead to steal the win away from the Phillies. The victory advances Atlanta to a 85-58 record, giving them a five-game lead over Philadelphia in the NL East standings.

These two teams will face off for the fourth contest of the four-game series on Monday. But Acuna will have another opportunity to troll the Phillies in front of his home crowd later in the week. After a three-game series against the Tampa Bay Rays, the Braves and Phillies will play in a three-game series in Atlanta.
