Ben Stiller makes stressful claim about watching Knicks in NBA Finals

As a diehard fan of the New York Knicks, actor Ben Stiller was stressed during the NBA Finals as he watched his favorite team win its first championship in 53 years.

Speaking to the Road Trippin’ Show, Stiller discussed the emotional rollercoaster of watching the Knicks. He was asked if making a movie or watching the Knicks in the fourth quarter was “more stressful,” and he had no doubt in his answer: “No question, watching a Knicks game in the fourth quarter.”

He then explained that he talked about this with Jalen Brunson. Ultimately, as a player, they’re “doing what” they do for a living. As a filmmaker and actor, you can do as many takes as necessary to get it just right. When you’re a fan, you can’t control the outcome of the game, at least from an on-court perspective.

“As a fan, you’re totally out of control. So you’re just watching and hoping. For the players, they’re just in the moment doing their job,” he explained.

Ben Stiller was there for the Knicks’ NBA Finals win

Of course, Stiller made the trip to San Antonio for Game 5 of the NBA Finals. He witnessed the Knicks win their first championship since 1973.

He was part of the Knicks’ postseason run, barely missing any games. Stiller was also seen filming footage for an upcoming documentary about the team.

Stiller is a lifelong Knicks fan, so the championship must hit hard. He has stood by them through the good and the bad times. He was at their last Finals appearance in 1999. The Knicks lost to the Spurs in five games that year. 27 years later, they flipped the narrative.

The Knicks beat the Spurs in five games in the 2026 NBA Finals. They won the last game on the road in San Antonio. It capped a dominant postseason run where they won 16 of 19 games.
