Athletics pitcher J.T. Ginn brutally loses no-hit bid in the 9th vs. Angels
Athletics pitcher JT Ginn saw his no-hit bid disappear in heartbreaking fashion Monday night after Los Angeles Angels veteran Adam Frazier opened the ninth inning with a leadoff single. The A’s right-hander had dominated the Halos through eight innings with 10 strikeouts while carrying a 1-0 lead into the final frame before Frazier lined a pitch down 0-2 in the count into the outfield for the Angels’ first hit of the game. The hit immediately ended Ginn’s pursuit of the first MLB no-hitter since September 2024 while additionally shifting momentum late at Angel Stadium.
Talkin’ Baseball quickly took to X, formerly Twitter, following the game, sharing video of Frazier’s leadoff single that abruptly ended the no-hit bid with zero outs in the ninth inning.

Ginn appeared in complete control throughout most of the outing, throwing more than 100 pitches while allowing only limited traffic on the bases entering the ninth. The Athletics right-hander mixed his fastball and breaking pitches effectively, frustrating the Angels lineup while recording double-digit strikeouts during one of the best starts of his young MLB career.
However, the game unraveled quickly after Frazier’s leadoff single. Moments later, Angels shortstop Zach Neto crushed a two-run walk-off homer to center field, lifting Los Angeles to a dramatic 2-1 comeback victory and handing Ginn a crushing loss despite his outstanding appearance.
Despite the stellar outing from Ginn, the ending served as another reminder of baseball’s unpredictable and unforgiving nature, where one swing can instantly erase nine innings of pure excellence.
