The Chicago White Sox are preparing for Game 3 of the American League Division Series on Wednesday. Chicago holds a 2-0 lead, and a win on Wednesday would secure a series victory and a trip to the ALCS for the Sox. Chicago's Sean Newcomb is set to start Game 3 against Cleveland's Daniel Espino, but how will manager Will Venable approach the remainder of the game?

“Sean Newcomb opens today for the White Sox. Who comes next? Will Venable says they’re going to ‘read and react' to the game. There isn’t an off-day tomorrow if necessary, so they’ll be weighing that as the game progresses,” Chuck Garfien of Chicago Sports Network reported.

The White Sox would obviously love to go all in on winning Game 3. However, they also have to think about the possibility of Game 4.

The worst scenario would be to use too many relievers in Wednesday's bullpen contest and be stretched thin for a potential Game 4. Game 4 would be played on Thursday, and the lack of an off-day adds an important element to the situation.

With all of that being said, the White Sox are unquestionably in a tremendous position overall. They took the first two games of the ALDS in Cleveland, and now Chicago is one win away from reaching the ALCS. One thing about this Guardians ball club is they will not go away quietly, so the White Sox know they need to play their best baseball on Wednesday afternoon.

Game 3 of the ALDS is scheduled for 4 PM ET in Chicago.
