The Atlanta Braves recently fell behind 2-1 in their NLDS series against the Los Angeles Dodgers with an ugly loss at home in Game 3. The Braves will now gear up to face elimination on Wednesday afternoon as they look to force a decisive Game 5 back in Los Angeles.

It's been a disastrous series, and playoff run as a whole, for former Braves MVP Ronald Acuna Jr., who once again failed to produce in Tuesday's loss.

Now, Braves infielder Mauricio Dubon has issued a blunt challenge to Acuna Jr. with Atlanta's season on the line.

“He needs to show up tomorrow,” said Dubon, per Jesus Cano of The Athletic.

Acuna Jr. is not the only Braves star struggling in his plate appearances, as regular season powerhouses Matt Olson and Drake Baldwin have also been mostly awful throughout this playoff run.

“Those guys have been our aircraft carriers all year,” manager Walt Weiss said of the trio. “Every time one of those guys steps in the box, I think something good is going to happen. But we faced some pretty good pitching; that had something to do with it. But those guys, they’re always one at-bat away from changing a game.”

The Braves have gotten to this point in the postseason mostly on the strength of their pitching, having won a bullpen game in surprising fashion in Game 2 over the weekend to tie things up with the Dodgers, although ace Chris Sale had a relatively disappointing outing on Tuesday, giving up three runs and only making it through five innings.

In any case, Game 4 between the Braves and Dodgers is set for Wednesday evening at 6:00 pm ET, once again from Atlanta.
