While things are looking positive for a Tyreek Hill-Kansas City Chiefs reunion, he may face a roadblock as his ex-wife, Keeta Vaccaro, has testified about his alleged abuse of her on the first day of the trial.

The trial began on Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2026, and Vaccaro's testimony alleged that the eight-time Pro Bowler attempted to punch her in the stomach while she was pregnant in July 2024 (via ProFootball Talk). She blocked the punch, but according to Vaccaro, he told her that he didn't want the baby.

Vaccaro said that this was “probably the worst of all these abuse times.” Sadly, it wasn't the only instance of abuse, as Hill allegedly ripped her hair out.

The NFL is still investigating Hill under the Personal Conduct Policy in relation to her claims. In 2015, he previously pleaded guilty to domestic assault and battery by strangulation of his then-pregnant girlfriend.

Will Tyreek Hill-Chiefs reunion still happen amid his ex-wife's testimony in alleged abuse trial?

It's unknown whether Hill will be able to sign with a team amid the ongoing trial. His agent, Drew Rosenhaus, has teased that a decision was coming within the next “few days.”

ProFootball Talk notes that his best move may be to “negotiate a resolution to the Personal Conduct Policy situation as soon as possible.” This would allow him to start serving any potential suspension “immediately.”

The trial will be a situation to monitor in the coming days as Hill potentially signs with an NFL team. He spent the first six years of his career with the Chiefs before being traded to the Miami Dolphins in 2022. He was released in February 2026 after tearing his ACL in September 2025.

The Chiefs could use Hill's presence. For one, he has a rapport with Patrick Mahomes, who is in desperate need of a wide receiver. The Chiefs also lost Tyquan Thornton during their Week 4 win against the Las Vegas Raiders.
