The Oklahoma City Thunder have officially completed their trade with the Sacramento Kings to acquire guard Nique Clifford, waiving recently signed big man Dalen Terry to make room for their newest addition on their 15-player standard roster, the team announced on Sunday.

Oklahoma City sent Sacramento two future second-round picks in return: the Utah Jazz's 2028 selection and the Minnesota Timberwolves' 2030 pick. Both selections were previously acquired by the Thunder through separate trades.

Terry's departure comes shortly after he signed a non-guaranteed two-year contract with OKC. The 23-year-old appeared in just two games for the Thunder, featuring in wins over the Memphis Grizzlies and Washington Wizards during a recent back-to-back. He had also spent training camp with the Golden State Warriors before joining Oklahoma City.

Clifford, meanwhile, returns to the organization that originally selected him 24th overall in the 2025 NBA Draft. The Thunder subsequently traded his draft rights to the Kings on draft night in exchange for a 2027 first-round pick from the San Antonio Spurs. That selection carries top-16 protection and is expected to convey to OKC next year.

The 6-foot-5 guard/forward remained on the periphery of Sacramento's rotation this season, appearing in eight games while averaging just 1.6 points, 0.9 rebounds and 1.0 assists in six minutes per contest. His rookie campaign was considerably more productive, as he finished with 8.6 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists across 75 appearances while playing 25.1 minutes per game.

The Thunder are bringing Clifford aboard while dealing with major injury problems. Jalen Williams, Cason Wallace and Chet Holmgren have all been ruled out with long-term injuries suffered in the October 25 matchup against the Los Angeles Clippers. The outlook is even more concerning for Williams and Wallace, both of whom could potentially miss the remainder of the season.

Still, Oklahoma City has maintained an 8-2 record and entered Sunday on a four-game winning streak.

Clifford's contract pays him $3.26 million this season and $3.42 million in 2027-28. The Thunder also hold a $5.98 million team option for the 2028-29 campaign, which must be exercised by November 1, 2027.

The Kings, who had no future second-round picks before the transaction, receive two selections while opening a roster spot and creating additional financial flexibility below the luxury tax threshold. They now have 13 players on standard contracts and 14 days to fill the vacancy.
