The Toronto Raptors have been without star forward Kawhi Leonard for the past seven games as he’s been dealing with a knee injury, and the latest update on his status doesn’t sound like he’s going to be back on the court anytime soon. Leonard has reportedly rejoined the team as the Raptors prepare for a two-game home stand, but he has not yet been cleared for on-court activity, as per Josh Lewenberg of TSN Sports.
Kawhi Leonard has suited up in the Raptors’ first two games of the season, in which the team went 2-0, but was then ruled out for the time being due to said knee injury. It is Leonard’s left knee that is at the forefront this time around, not the right knee that previously gave him issues.
Leonard had returned to the Raptors in the offseason following a trade with the LA Clippers, reuniting him with the franchise he led to the 2019 NBA title. The trade also came on the heels of a league investigation and subsequent punishment for Leonard and the Clippers regarding salary cap circumvention.

He was averaging 19.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 3.5 steals with splits of 32.4 percent shooting from the field, 28.6 percent shooting from the 3-point line and 100 percent shooting from the free-throw line.
The No. 15 overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, Leonard is in his 15th season in the league. Although he has dealt with multiple injury issues, he’s coming off one of his healthiest seasons in recent history, suiting up in 65 games for the Clippers.
