As the Indiana football program lost to the Ohio State Buckeyes in the week prior, the team was looking to bounce back on Saturday against the Michigan Wolverines, and they did just that with a grueling 13-6 win in overtime. With the Indiana football team ending a 57-year streak of beating Michigan on their home turf, head coach Curt Cignetti would go into the health status of quarterback Josh Hoover.
Some people had been wondering what went into Hoover's performance as he threw for 81 yards and an interception, not completing a pass in the second half, though he rushed for a touchdown. Cignetti would express how Hoover “wasn't 100 percent” on Saturday and even all week, according to ESPN's college football insider Pete Thamel.
“Curt Cignetti says that Josh Hoover ‘wasn’t 100 percent today, all week.' Hoover didn’t complete a pass in second half. But he hit a big pass in OT and ran for a touchdown for the program’s first win in the Big House in 57 years,” Thamel wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
