The Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Tampa Bay Rays by a final score of 3-2 in Game 1 of the World Series on Friday. The teams are set to go head-to-head once again on Saturday night in Milwaukee. Ryan Braun — a six-time All-Star and 2011 MVP who spent his entire career in Milwaukee with the Brewers — recently shared his thoughts on the team's World Series outlook, via 620 WTMJ.
“I think the key is just more of the same, right? Same approach, same energy, same relentless approach to grinding out at-bats,” Braun said. “Playing well defensively, putting pressure on the other team when we're on the base paths. The bullpen continuing to throw the ball really well, and coming through in high-leverage situations.
“This team has been great in close games. They've been great in big moments. So if they continue to do that, I really like our chances.”
Braun was teammates with some of the players on the current team, including Christian Yelich and Brandon Woodruff. Braun's Brewers reached the postseason on multiple occasions but were unable to win the franchise's first World Series. Perhaps Yelich and Woodruff's Brewers will get the job done this year. They are off to a strong start with the 1-0 series lead.
Braun shared an unsurprising answer when asked for a World Series prediction.

The Rays won't go down quietly, but the Brewers are in the driver's seat with the 1-0 series lead at home. Game 2 is scheduled for 8 PM ET on Saturday night.
