With the Utah football team being featured on College GameDay for their pivotal matchup against the University of Houston on Saturday night, the program is led by head coach Morgan Scalley, who has shown time and time again his loyalty to the school. Subsequently, as the Utah football program prepares for the clash against Houston, Scalley would have a declaration about the university that fans are going to love.

Scalley has been coaching with the Utes since 2007 as an assistant, which does not even count the years he played defensive back for the team from 2001 to 2004. Becoming the head coach in 2025, Scalley has been building up the team, even financially, as he gifted two million dollars to the football program, explaining on “The Pat McAfee Show” that his family's “flag is planted” with the Utes.

“Hey, I grew up [in] Sugar House, Utah. My father was a halfback here. Played back in the late 50s, early 60s,” Scalley said. “My family is born and bred Utes. They all went here. The University of Utah has meant so much to our families, done so much for us. This is us giving back, having the opportunity to give back. My wife, I met my wife on campus at the University of Utah, and it was a family decision…We're not going anywhere.”

Nick Saban praises the Utah football program

With the Utah football program looking to stay undefeated as they're 6-0 and ranked 10th in the nation, the game against the Cougars is critical, with legendary head coach Nick Saban shouting them out in the lead-up to the contest on Saturday.

“But how could you ever get a defensive team to understand 17 different personnel groups and what they like to do out of each one of them?” Saban said Friday. “It's impossible. So I think that part of their team is better. I think the quarterback's better. I don't think they've been tested defensively. So it'll be interesting because Houston has a very athletic team to see how they hold up.”
