The San Francisco Giants had an extremely disappointing 2026 season. While underperformance was the primary issue, a Harrison Bader off-the-field concern stole headlines during the middle of the campaign. The outfielder was one of the biggest additions for the Giants before the season, but his season came to an early end after suffering an injury setback while riding a scooter in the city. It was later revealed that Bader's scooter accident violated his contract and he would not be paid until he returned from injury. So, what does the future hold for Bader in San Francisco?

“Everybody, including Harrison, is disappointed about how this thing unfolded. Right now he's under contract for next season,” Giants president of baseball operations Buster Posey said on Tuesday, via Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area.

Bader had already been dealing with plantar fasciitis before the scooter accident. The injury he suffered led to a setback, and Bader would not play again during the season. He last appeared in a game in late May.

The outfielder had a season to forget even without the injury and off the-field concerns. Bader hit just .170/.198/.358 across 30 games played. It is worth mentioning that he is under contract through 2027 as Posey mentioned. Barring a trade or unexpected release, Bader is expected to remain with the Giants next year.

Only time will tell what the future holds for Bader with the Giants. He would surely love to redeem himself after what transpired this past season, but it remains to be seen if he will receive the opportunity.
