Matt Kuchar withdrew from the WM Phoenix Open on Wednesday following the demise of his father.
Peter Kuchar handed away unexpectedly on Tuesday on the age of 73, his son confirmed to GolfChannel.com.
Peter Kuchar was Matt’s caddie when he received the 1997 U.S. Novice and was a daily within the PGA Tour galleries.
“My Pop was an enormous fan of sport and handed on his love of competitors to me,” Matt Kuchar stated in a press release. “He was an exquisite individual — an unbelievable grandfather, a loving husband and finest buddy to my mom, and one of the best father I might have ever hoped for.
