59-year-old Bob Dylan song played for the 1st time during summer tour premiere show
As he usually does, Bob Dylan opened his 2026 summer tour in Troutdale, Oregon, by shaking up his setlist, marking the live debut of a song originally recorded in 1967.
In the 13th slot of his setlist, Dylan performed “Baby, Won’t You Be My Baby” for the first time, according to his website. That was probably the most noteworthy addition to his setlist.
“Baby, Won’t You Be My Baby” was originally recorded by Dylan and The Band during his Basement Tapes sessions in 1967. It wouldn’t be officially released until the 11th volume of his Bootleg Series, The Basement Tapes Complete, in November 2014.
While the Rough and Rowdy Ways Tour has seemingly concluded after nearly five years and 303 shows, Dylan snuck two songs from the tour’s namesake album, “I Contain Multitudes” and “Crossing the Rubicon.”
Four of the 16 songs performed were covers, ranging from “I Can Tell” to “Axe and the Wind.” These will be familiar to those who saw him perform at the Outlaw Festival in 2025.
The tour will continue on Saturday, June 6, for the first of two shows in Woodinville, Washington. It is set to conclude on Saturday, Aug. 1, in Nashville, Tennessee, at Ascend Federal Credit Union Ampitheater.
