49ers owner Jed York arrest’s wild bodycam footage hits the internet

A video of San Francisco 49ers owner Jed York’s arrest in Ohio last Sunday is going viral.

Bodycam footage of the scene shared by TMZ shows the 46-year-old York looking surprised after being approached by police while in his vehicle. The arrest was made after he arrived at the location where he and a fake prostitute agreed to meet up. Before that, York allegedly responded multiple times to a fictitious prostitution ad.

York, who was wearing a Yankees shirt and basketball shorts during the arrest, was seemingly cooperative with police. He was placed in handcuffs and taken to the police car.

Asked what he was doing in the area, York simply answered: “just driving.”

Police also found cash in York’s vehicle.

He’s got a s**t ton of cash,” an officer was heard in the footage saying.

“It’s crazy the people that do this,” another said. “They could do whatever they want. They could do other things. They could go other ways. It’s wild.”

The situation with York clearly does not reflect well on the 49ers and adds distraction to the team’s preparation for the upcoming 2026 NFL season.

The 49ers released a brief statement on York’s arrest, acknowledging what happened and saying they will review the incident under the personal conduct policy.

San Francisco is set to fly next week to Australia for the team’s season opener against NFC West division rivals Los Angeles Rams on Sept. 10.

But before that, the Niners will take on the Las Vegas Raiders at Allegiant Stadium for a preseason finale Thursday.
