49ers’ George Kittle joins 1 Called Manders in ring during WrestleMania weekend

One does not usually enter a wrestling ring while they are recovering from a torn Achilles, but San Francisco 49ers star tight end George Kittle was not going to let his physical limitations prevent him from sharing a moment with his former college roommate and teammate.

The two-time First-Team All-Pro went in between the ropes to celebrate with 1 Called Manders, who had just emerged victorious in a ladder match at Joey Janela’s Spring Break event in Las Vegas (host city for WrestleMania 42 this weekend).

1 Called Manders went by the name Steven Manders when Kittle spent time with him at the University of Iowa. He played fullback for the Hawkeyes, but after receiving sparse opportunities, he decided to pursue a different passion. The 32-year-old is working though the independent wrestling scene, and his longtime friend is supporting him along the way.

Kittle is a huge WWE fan and has even gotten involved in the action before. He jumped over the barricade and delivered a clothesline to The Miz at WrestleMania 39 to help Pat McAfee pick up a win. When the seven-time Pro Bowl selection decides to tie a bow on his superb NFL career, do not be surprised if he transitions into this industry.

The 32-year-old is just a fan right now, however. After he is done catching up with Manders and taking in the WrestleMania festivities, George Kittle will redirect his attention to getting back on the field and helping the 49ers contend for their first championship in three decades.
