2027 LB joins brother at USC over Duke, UCF interest

USC Football has been dominating on the college football recruiting trail. The Trojans recently landed four-star safety Gavin Williams for the class of 2027, beating out Notre Dame and UCLA.

Now, USC has landed a linebacker over Duke, Boston College, and UCF, according to Hayes Fawcett of Rivals.

Dylan Wafle has committed to USC, committing during an official visit to the campus. Wafle is the younger brother of Luke Wafle, who was the number one ranked played in the class of 2026. That gave the younger brother familiarity with the team, something he spoke of, according to Steve Wiltfong of Rivals.

“Something that made USC right for me was the culture that they have and that they are building,” Dylan Wafle said. “As well as the relationships with players and with coaches.  I feel that the development that I will get at USC will fully maximize my potential with size and technique. I love the coaches and each personality that they have as well as the players. And on top of everything, having the opportunity to play with my brother was something I couldn’t pass up.”

Wafle is a three-star recruit, ranked as the 127th best player at his position and tenth from the state of Connecticut. It also gives the Trojans a 14th commitment for the class of 2027. It is a class that includes Honor Fa’alave-Johnson and Mekai Brown, two of the top 25 recruits in the nation. USC is now ranked ninth nationally in recruiting for the class, and third in the Big Ten, only behind Oregon and Ohio State.
