Yankees’ Aaron Boone isn’t buying this troubling trend after getting swept by Brewers
The New York Yankees are looking to get back on track after being swept by the Milwaukee Brewers. New York’s series loss continued a worrying trend from the franchise.
The Yankees have only lost three series in 2026. However, they have come to three winning teams in the Athletics, Tampa Bay Rays and now Brewers. Still, manager Aaron Boone isn’t taking the competition level in those losses to heart, via Greg Joyce of the New York Post.
“We’re really good,” Boone said. “We had a bad series.”
Ultimately, New York is still 26-15 on the season. While they’ve fallen a game behind the Rays in the AL East, they are still one of the biggest contenders in MLB. Furthermore, two of their losses to the Brewers came via a walk-off. Outside of a 6-0 loss in the first game, the Yankees weren’t getting embarrassed.
Boone and company is now preparing for a three-game series against the Baltimore Orioles. While still early in the season, the Yankees will take any opportunity they can to gain advantage on a division foe. Furthermore, New York swept Baltimore in their first four-game series of the season. Another sweep would not only show the Brewers defeat won’t linger but their overall AL East dominance.
The Yankees came into 2026 with World Series expectations. They know they’ll be dealing with difficult matchups all season. While no one wants to get swept, Boone isn’t taking it personally. He knows he has the team ready to take their bumps and battle back stronger.
