Wyndham Clark wins Byron Nelson with epic back 9 performance
TPC Craig Ranch was restored before the 2026 PGA Tour season to make it harder for the professionals. Wyndham Clark made that idea laughable, shooting a Sunday 60 to win the CJ Cup Byron Nelson, his fourth Tour win. The 2023 U.S. Open champion made x birdies and an eagle on the back nine to storm to victory.
Clark was able to seperate on the greens all week, picking up an insane 12.5 strokes-gained putting on the week. That has not been his strength in recent years, and it even caused him some struggles this season.
“Wyndham Clark strokes gained putting per round this season. Through Masters: -0.65 per round. Since: +1.54 per round (3rd round at Craig Ranch still in progress). He leads in the field in that statistic this week,” Justin Ray of The Athletic reported on Sunday. That got even better for Clark on Sunday.
Clark poured in a 15-foot eagle putt on 12, a 44-foot birdie putt on 15, and a 12-foot birdie putt on 17 to clinch the victory.
No, this is not a replay.

Clark’s Sunday 60 was not the first one of the week, however. Si Woo Kim fired a 60 on Friday with a bogey on 18, oh so close to one of those coveted 59s. This is Kim’s second runner-up finish and fifth top-five finish of the PGA Tour season. That includes a T2 finish at The American Express back in January, which was won by Scottie Scheffler.
Kim still had a chance to chase down Clark late in the day, but could not birdie the 17th hole. Kim has four PGA Tour wins, but none since January 2023 in Hawaii. His 60 was the second of his career, following a 2016 60 at the Wyndham Championship. But he is still looking for a win to get to five in his career.
What’s next on PGA Tour after Wyndham Clark’s win?

The PGA Tour schedule rolls on next week at the Charles Schwab Challenge in Fort Worth, Texas. A limited travel week for those playing both events, but neither event is in the Signature Event series. The next event on that slate is the Memorial Tournament, which is in the first week of June.
Scottie Scheffler had another top-five finish at the Byron Nelson, his seventh of the season. Somehow, the triumph at the American Express is his only win of the season. He was certainly upset with his T14 finish last week at the PGA Championship, but he was right in the mix this week.
Scheffler could not defend his CJ Cup Byron Nelson title from last year, and did not win at Colonial last year. But when they get to Ohio in two weeks, Scheffler will be the two-time defending champion at Jack’s Place. The No. 1 player in the world has won twice in a row at the Memorial and will certainly be the favorite to do it again. That is the next time Rory McIlroy will be on the PGA Tour, as he announced last week.
