What Yankees’ Ryan McMahon said after walking off Braves in extra innings

The New York Yankees needed a late offensive breakthrough Friday night, and Ryan McMahon delivered. His walk-off sacrifice fly in the 10th inning secured a 3-2 victory over the Atlanta Braves at Yankee Stadium.

McMahon’s comments reflect the frustration of an offense that struggled before its late rally. No Yankees runner reached third base until the ninth inning, while Rice’s tying single snapped an 0-for-17 skid to begin August.

Still, New York responded when its margin for error disappeared. The Yankees erased a two-run deficit, prevented the Braves’ automatic runner from scoring, and successfully converted their opportunity in the 10th. The 10-year MLB veteran provided the decisive RBI, but his postgame message reinforced the Yankees’ need for more consistent offensive production moving forward.
