The former Premier League winger signed for Kanchanaburi Power in a surprise move in August 2025, playing 30 games.

He scored three goals and provided six assists in his first term.

But the club were relegated from Thai League One, leading to him making another switch to stay in the top flight.

And now, Townsend has joined PT Prachuap, who finished sixth in the table when his former side finished at the bottom.

Announcing the arrival of the former England international, the club posted on social media: “Get ready. He’s here.

“Time to welcome the new members of the carnage army. See you on the field. Welcome to the Killerwasp Family.”

And Townsend himself reacted to the post of him donning his new side’s merchandise, sharing the images on his account.

Alongside a heart eyes emoji and the Thai flag, the veteran wrote: “The Thai adventure continues”

PT Prachuap were founded in 2009 and managed to achieve promotion to Thai League One nine years ago.

They will hope that the addition of the experienced ex-Premier League forward can bring them some more success.
