What Yankees’ Jazz Chisholm Jr. said after Guardians broadcaster’s Jimmy Fallon take

New York Yankees second baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr. has finally issued a response to a recent stray he caught from Cleveland Guardians radio play-by-play broadcaster Tom Hamilton.

To refresh, Hamilton took a not-so-subtle jab at Chisholm during Tuesday’s series opener between the Yankees and the Guardians at Yankee Stadium in Bronx, New York, while referencing the infielder’s subpar performance at the plate in the 2026 MLB season and the player’s Monday appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”

“Well, he predicted the Yankees will win the World Series,” Hamilton said in the broadcast. “Pretty amazing he got on that Jimmy Fallon show batting .239.”

Before the second game of the Cleveland series, Chisholm shared his thoughts on Hamilton’s comments.

“I mean, I am a two-time All-Star,” Chisholm said (h/t Gary Phillips of NY Daily News Sports). “I’m not trying to be arrogant or anything. First of all, it was really for my charity that I was there.”

Chisholm simply told the truth in his response to Hamilton, who seemingly just did not like the 28-year-old star’s confident claim on the Yankees.

If anything, Hamilton’s remark added intrigue to the series between the Yankees and the Guardians, who are two of the best teams (record-wise) in the American League. New York has a 36-25 record, while the Guardians started the day with a 36-27 slate — second and third-best in the AL, respectively.

As for their series, the Yankees now trail Cleveland, 2-0, after losing to the visiting Guardians on Wednesday, 5-4. New York will look to avoid a sweep in the series finale on Thursday.
