West Ham v Everton prediction

West Ham head into this weekend’s mammoth clash as marginal favourites, aided by the home advantage and having recently climbed out of the relegation zone for the first time in over four months.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side currently occupy 17th place in the Premier League, just one place and two points above the bottom three, and will approach the match in confident mood with only one defeat across their last five league games.

The Hammers have particularly improved their home form of late in their bid to keep themselves in the Premier League for a 14th consecutive season, unbeaten in their last eight at the London Stadium since their opening home game of 2026, when excluding penalty shoot outs.

Six of those eight though, have ended as a stalemate at the end of the regulation 90 minutes, however their most recent game on their home turf did result in a 4-0 thumping of Wolves, their biggest win of the season so far.

Three points will also to be crucial to Everton on Saturday in their bid to return to the European stage next season for the first time in nine years.

David Moyes, who spent the best part of five and a half years managing at West Ham, across two stints, and delivered the club a first major trophy in 43 years, will be making his first return to the London Stadium as manager on Saturday since his departure in June 2024.

The Scot, now in his second term at the Toffees, currently has his side firmly in the mix for Europe, heading into the weekend sat 10th in the table but only a point off the top eight and three points behind the top six.

Everton suffered a painful defeat at home in the Merseyside derby last weekend, falling to a late winner despite arguably being the better team on the day, so will have to pick themselves up in order to continue their push for the top seven with so many other teams fighting for the same positions.

The Merseyside club have won just one of their last four matches, but only Arsenal and Manchester City have picked up more points on the road than the Toffees this season, with just one defeat in their last eight away games since mid-December.

The last three meetings between the two sides have all ended in a stalemate, and with so much on the line for both sides, it appears very plausible that that run of draws may extend beyond this weekend, a 1-1 draw seeming the most probably outcome.

West Ham v Everton betting tips

Nothing to separate two teams with much to play for

Six of West Ham’s last eight home matches have ended in a draw after 90 minutes of play, while there has been nothing to separate these teams each of the last three times the two have met.

With so much on the line for both teams and their aspirations of the campaign, particularly with both managers’ styles of play, it could be a cagey affair with likely very little, if anything, to separate the two sides.

Bowen’s on fire

Jarrod Bowen has scored more goals this season than any other player on either team, and is the only in either squad to have reached double figures in hitting the back of the net.

The West Ham winger scored in the previous meeting with Everton earlier this season, and has scored three goals in his last three games at the London Stadium against the Toffees.

Gritty Garner to go in the book

James Garner has received more yellow cards than any other player in either squad, having received his 10th booking of the campaign in the latter stages of last week’s Merseyside derby.
