Warriors’ Stephen Curry makes Devin Booker 70-point joke after long-awaited Brandin Podziemski feat

The Golden State Warriors fell 124-118 to the Sacramento Kings on Friday night, but the postgame focus shifted to a milestone performance from Brandin Podziemski and a lighthearted remark from Stephen Curry.

Podziemski delivered a career-high 30 points, adding three rebounds, one assist and one steal across 32 minutes. He shot an efficient 9-for-15 from the field, 3-for-8 from beyond the arc and 9-for-10 from the free-throw line, leading all Warriors scorers in the loss.

Following the game, Curry referenced Devin Booker’s widely discussed 70-point performance in a 2017 loss to the Boston Celtics, joking about how the team planned to celebrate Podziemski’s achievement despite the defeat.

“I told him we were going to treat him like Devin Booker when he scored 70 in Boston and they lost, give him the sign and all that. I know he’s been searching for it. Everybody knew it too so it was fun seeing him get it and the way he got it.”

Brandin Podziemski’s 30-point feat sparks long-awaited social media account return

Curry finished with 11 points, five assists, three rebounds and two steals in 27 minutes. He shot 3-for-8 from the field, including 2-for-6 from three-point range, and converted all three of his free-throw attempts.

For Podziemski, the performance marked a personal breakthrough after coming close to the 30-point mark on multiple occasions this season. The second-year guard acknowledged the significance of the moment following the game, noting both the individual milestone and its connection to a long-running social media storyline.

“It’s cool, I’m blessed, for sure. Last time we were here I think Will [Richard] had 30, so it’s cool to replicate that… the account could be activated now.”

Podziemski was referring to the X account @currysnotafraud, which had not posted since Nov. 25, 2024, after stating it would remain inactive until he reached the 30-point mark. The account resumed activity shortly after Friday’s game, April 10, 2026, marking a gap of more than 16 months since its last post.

Despite the loss, Podziemski’s performance provided a bright spot for Golden State, highlighting his continued development as a scoring option within the team’s rotation.
