Warriors rumors: Insider points to late workout as possible Dubs dark-horse draft candidate

With the Golden State Warriors having the No. 11 pick in the upcoming 2026 NBA Draft, there are a bunch of options the team could look to add to the roster alongside Stephen Curry and others. As fans theorize who the Warriors will look at with the No. 11 pick, this NBA insider has options for the team, plus one that had a last-minute workout with the franchise.

In ClutchPoints NBA insider Brett Siegel’s latest mock draft with the Warriors, he spoke about everything surrounding Golden State and what they could do with the No. 11 pick and elsewhere. That includes Golden State wanting to maybe add another pick, due to having interest in a few players outside of the top echelon of the NBA Draft.

Some of those players include Karim Lopez, Baylor’s Cameron Carr, and, especially, as Siegel mentions, Iowa’s Bennett Stirtz. The Hawkeyes star was reportedly a “last-minute, late addition” to the team’s list of college players to work out, as he’s being described as a “true dark-horse candidate” for the upcoming 2026 draft.

“On Thursday, Stirtz was a last-minute, late addition to the Warriors’ already lengthy list of draft prospects working out, and there has been some talk about him being the Warriors’ true dark-horse candidate in this draft,” Siegel wrote. “Carr is another player who has drawn genuine interest from the Warriors over the last few weeks, and he was also in San Francisco on Thursday. If they keep this pick, Burries and the three Michigan guys seem like the obvious choices, but keep a close eye on Carr and Stirtz over the next few days.”

It remains to be seen what the Warriors do with the No. 11 pick and whatever other activity the team does with the NBA Draft starting on Tuesday.
