Tyson Fury’s comeback fight watched by more than five million in UK, says Netflix
Tyson Fury’s fight with Arslanbek Makhmudov had an average minute audience (AMA) in the UK of five million people.
Netflix announced the viewing figures for Fury’s first fight since his second defeat to Oleksandr Usyk in December 2024, just days after ‘The Gypsy King’ outclassed Russia’s Makhmudov over 12 rounds at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Fury, now 37 years old, didn’t look his best, but he got the job done in London before calling out Anthony Joshua and getting into a heated argument with his fellow British boxing star.
“I want you, AJ, Anthony Joshua. Let’s give the fight fans what they want – the Battle of Britain,” Fury said.
“I challenge you, Anthony Joshua, to fight me, the Gypsy King, next.
“Do you accept my challenge?”
It seems like Netflix is pushing for Fury vs ‘AJ’ next, despite the latter not obeying Fury’s commands and refusing a face-to-face in the ring.
The streaming giants even incorrectly posted on official social media accounts that the fight had been signed to take place in autumn, live on Netflix.
Joshua’s 2017 clash with Wladimir Klitschko remains the highest-selling UK pay-per-view fight in history at 1.5million buys, according to multiple sources.
Fury’s comeback also coincided nicely with season two of his Netflix documentary At Home with the Furys, which was released hours after his win and has been trending top in the UK and Ireland ever since.
Fury vs Makhmudov was Netflix’s fifth live boxing event since it first put on Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson, which attracted more than 60million households to tune in.
The platform also showed Paul’s fight with Joshua last December, as well as Canelo Alvarez vs Terence Crawford and Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano 3.
Netflix trying MMA in May

Next month, Netflix will be entering the MMA market for the first time.
Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions has put together a stacked card for Netflix’s first-ever MMA show, as Ronda Rousey headlines the event in her first bout since December 2016.
Rousey faces women’s MMA trailblazer Gina Carano, with former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou and veteran Nate Diaz also making returns on the card.
