TV picks revealed for FA Cup fourth round with Macclesfield set for bumper pay day

The TV picks for the fourth round of the FA Cup have been confirmed, with Macclesfield set for another big pay day.

After pulling off arguably the greatest FA Cup shock of all time by dumping holders Crystal Palace, the National League North side have been handed another home tie against Brentford.

And as a result, their game against the Bees has been given the big Monday night slot.

It’s scheduled for 7:30pm on Monday, 16 February and will be shown on TNT Sports 1.

For reaching the fourth round, they picked up £121,000, and no matter what happens next, they are guaranteed £80,000 for being picked for TV coverage.

The gate money is also split with 45 per cent going to each side, but the Bees could decide to donate their portion of the fee to Macclesfield.

So, it’s looking like a lucrative evening for Macclesfield.

The FA Cup fourth-round televised fixtures start with Liam Rosenior returning to Hull City as Chelsea manager.

Rosenior was sacked by the Tigers after failing to take them into the play-offs, and he will be looking to take the Blues into the next round.

That game is set for Friday, February 13 at 7:45pm, with the game on BBC and TNT Sports 1.

On that same Friday, Wrexham are also on TV in Wales.

The Championship side saw off Nottingham Forest in a penalty shootout following a 3-3 draw, and they are up against Ipswich Town next, live on BBC Wales.

Saturday has three TV games, starting with Burton Albion takinng on West Ham United at 12:15pm.

That certainly has the potential for an upset as the Brewers welcome the struggling Irons, and it will be shown on TNT Sports 1.

5:45pm sees Aston Villa welcome Newcastle United, which will see one of two sides who would fancy their chances in this competition crashing out.

Villa made the the semi-finals last year, while the Toon under Eddie Howe claimed the Carabao Cup and always take the domestic competitions seriously.

It’s a bad draw for both clubs, but for neutrals, it should be a cracker, and it’s on BBC One and TNT Sports 3.

Later that evening, we have another all-Premier League clash, with Brighton & Hove Albion making the trip to Merseyside to take on Liverpool.

The Seagulls’ reward for beating Man United for the first time in the FA Cup is a trip to Anfield, and that is on at 8pm on TNT Sports 1.
