Macklin Celebrini passes Joe Thornton for new Sharks record
The San Jose Sharks regained relevance this season, and while they fell short of making the playoffs, they have plenty to look forward to in the future thanks to Macklin Celebrini. The 19-year-old forward has had a historic second season and looks like someone who will be a superstar in the league for years to come.
On Thursday night, in San Jose’s season finale against the Winnipeg Jets, Celebrini broke another Sharks record. He notched his 115th point of the season, passing franchise legend Joe Thornton for the most in a single season in franchise history, according to Frank Seravalli.
Celebrini put up another stellar game to close out an incredible second season, posting a goal and a pair of assists in a 6-1 win over the Jets.
