Bills trade 2-time Georgia national champion to Colts

The Buffalo Bills are finalizing their 53-man roster ahead of the 2026 NFL season and making some moves to get the most out of every player. For backup center Sedrick Van Pran-Granger, that means sending him to the Indianapolis Colts in a trade that brings back a sixth-round pick.

“Trade! The Bills are sending C Sedrick Van Pran-Granger to the Colts, per source,” The Ringer’s Tom Pelissero reported on Sunday. “Full details: The Bills get a 2027 6th-round pick for Van Pran-Granger and a 2027 7th-rounder.”

Van Pran-Granger was a fifth-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft after helping the Georgia Bulldogs win back-to-back national championships. He competed to replace Mitch Morse at center for the Bills, but after Connor McGovern won the job, SVPG has been unable to unseat the veteran. It was looking like he would have another chance to win the job this offseason, but McGovern re-signed on a long-term extension.

With veteran Lloyd Cushenberry coming in this offseason, the Bills had one more center than necessary. Van Pran-Granger was entering the final deal of his rookie contract, so Brandon Beane and company decided to trade him to get something back rather than cut him.

For the Colts, this move also makes sense, as they are only trading back a few picks in the final rounds of next year’s draft, and their own backup center, Dalton Tucker, has struggled this preseason.

In other Bills roster news and notes, the team has waived defensive back Anthony Kendall, who will likely return on the practice squad if he clears waivers.
