Tottenham get Cody Gakpo boost as Liverpool push for Bradley Barcola
Tottenham are still pushing to sign Liverpool winger Cody Gakpo, talkSPORT understands.
Liverpool’s stance had been that they were reluctant to sell Gakpo, however that could change to help fund their quest to sign Paris Saint-Germain’s Bradley Barcola.

The France international remains the Reds’ top summer transfer target.
But they are yet to find a breakthrough in negotiations with the Champions League holders.
However, PSG insiders expect Barcola to leave before next week’s transfer deadline and talks with Liverpool continue.
A deal to bring the 23-year-old to Anfield could lead to a domino effect regarding Gakpo.
Which clubs are interested in Cody Gakpo?
Manchester City are also interested in Gakpo as they look to bolster their attack.
But sources have played down the chances of the Dutchman moving to the Etihad.
talkSPORT told you last month how the 27-year-old is on Spurs’ radar as they plot an audacious move.
And it is now believed that Gakpo – capable of playing as a left winger of striker – is understood to be making the move to north London.
He could be the latest forward to join Roberto De Zerbi‘s project as Spurs close in on the signing of Citizens winger Savinho in an £85million deal.
Savinho isn’t the only City star that Spurs are keen on, with striker Omar Marmoush also in advanced talks to head down south.

Having strengthened their midfield with the £100m addition of Sandro Tonali and £85m arrival of Mateus Fernandes, Tottenham are now prioritising their attack.
Spurs could be set for a new-look front three following their 3-0 defeat at Brentford in their opening Premier League fixture.
Question marks remain surrounding the future of centre-forward Richarlison, while Mikey Moore could be heading to Germany to link up with FC Koln on loan.
While the duo drew a blank in west London over the weekend, Gakpo opened his account for the new season in fine fashion.
He fired in a long-range stunner in Liverpool’s 2-2 draw away at Newcastle.
While fellow Spurs targets Savinho and Marmoush played no part in City’s 2-1 comeback victory over Bournemouth.

What has been said about Cody Gakpo leaving Liverpool?
Despite heavy interest in Gakpo, talkSPORT co-host Jeff Stelling doesn’t believe that Liverpool should be parting ways with the ex-PSV man.
Speaking on the Sports Breakfast show, Stelling was asked about City’s interest in the Netherlands international.
To which he said: “Liverpool are not going to sell Cody Gakpo to Man City, they’re just not.
“Liverpool need to bring players in, not get rid at the moment. And where is Cody Gakpo going to play for them?”
On Spurs’ interest in Gakpo, Stelling again stressed that the Merseyside outfit should not be entertaining any bids.
He remarked: “I don’t think [so], I thought Cody Gakpo was Liverpool’s best player at Newcastle at the weekend.

“Why would you want to sell him? And why would he want to leave Liverpool to go to Spurs?
“I don’t get it at all, so no, I don’t really see that there’s a race for Cody Gakpo.”
