Tom Brady has failed Raiders by missing on his two biggest ownership decisions
The Raiders are wasting Maxx Crosby’s prime.
Like Chip Kelly, Pete Carroll should be one-and-done in Las Vegas.

Other than the above, Tom Brady is on top of the world as an NFL minority owner.
What is wrong with the Raiders?
“I want the team to have talented players who have we-first attitudes, who are coachable, who have the right values and do things the right way and know how to do their jobs in pursuit of team success,” Brady wrote in September.
“I have a deep desire to help refresh and reinvigorate the culture of a franchise with cherished traditions and a long, storied history in professional football.”
Only the New York Giants and Tennessee Titans are worse than the 2-9 Raiders as Thanksgiving approaches, and Brady’s lingering NFL conflict of interest is obscuring the fact that he deserves an F during his early days as Las Vegas’ ‘hands on’ helper.
Carroll has appeared lost since Week 2, when the Raiders answered a 20-13 win over the New England Patriots – proof that Week 1 is often an aberration – with four consecutive losses.
Carroll consistently clashed with Kelly, who previously flamed out with the Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers, and has never been able to replicate his college inventiveness consistently in the pros.
Firing Kelly as offensive coordinator won’t fix a 2-9 team, and Carroll should be the next big coaching name tossed into the bin in Vegas.
The Raiders are tied-for-last in the NFL in average points scored (15) and rank 31st in rushing yards (79.5), while Carroll’s son, Brennan, holds the coaching titles of ‘run game coordinator/offensive line.’
“Someone needs to tell Pete this isn’t the Legion of Boom Seahawks,” one fan tweeted.
“Raiders need a QB who can go through the progression quicker before a weak pocket collapses!” a second fan posted. “After his off-field comments and actions, Geno Smith should be suspended and benched for the remaining games!”

Brady has promoted his involvement
Brady has gone out of his way to let Raiders fans across the globe know how invested and involved he is in running the team.
That was embarrassingly clear when FOX’s lead NFL television analyst wore a headset in Las Vegas’ coaching booth during a Week 2 loss to the Chargers.
“As a limited partner in the Raiders, I want the Silver & Black to return to the glory of those amazing years under Al Davis and John Madden,” Brady said.
Choosing the 74-year-old Carroll to replace Antonio Pierce – who only received one full-time season as head coach – was a rookie mistake by Brady.
So was putting Las Vegas’ offense in the hands of Smith, who was given a $75 million contract ($66m guaranteed) and is now tied-for-first in the NFL in interceptions (13) and ranks 32nd in QB rating (29.3).
While Shedeur Sanders must keep proving himself week after week in Cleveland, ignoring the young and talented QB in the 2025 NFL Draft was an organizational miss for the Raiders.
Ranking Super Bowl contenders
30. Las Vegas Raiders (2-9)
The Raiders aren’t taking over the NFL anytime soon, while Geno Smith could soon be benched.
“I’ve just got to play better,” said Smith, after Las Vegas fell on Monday Night Football.
“I keep saying this. If something don’t look right out there, blame it on me. If it don’t look right, blame it on me. That’s all you can do, blame it on me.”

Kenny Pickett and Aidan O’Connell sit behind Smith on Las Vegas’ QB depth chart, which is the primary reason that Carroll keeps playing a 12-year veteran who has nothing to do with a winning future for the Raiders.
Ex-Raiders coach wanted Sanders in draft
“When I was with the Raiders, he (Sanders) was one of our top choices,” Pierce said on CBS Sports.
“If I would have stayed there, there’s no way he goes in the fifth round. I’m making that choice and decision that we’re drafting him. Mark Davis was on board with that. Our organization was on board. We believed in what we saw in Shedeur.”
Did Brady?
Likely not, since Sanders was ignored by the Raiders and fell all the way to pick No. 144 before Cleveland invested in him.
The Raiders are still one of the NFL’s worst-run teams, which has been an internal trend dating back decades.

Josh McDaniels, Dennis Allen, Norv Turner and Lane Kiffin have combined with Gardner Minshew, Terrelle Pryor, Carson Palmer and Derek Carr to burn through money and hope, while torching the annual dreams of depressed Raiders fans.
The 2026 NFL Draft will provide another round of new talent, but Las Vegas currently feels years away from a true NFL breakthrough and needs another organizational reset.
That should include trading Crosby, who’s a four-time Pro Bowler but has $112m remaining on his contract and will turn 30 in less than two years.
Brady is the only person in the world splitting time as a lead NFL TV analyst and NFL minority owner, and that glaring conflict of interest continues to undercut the integrity of the league.
Judged alone as a big-name and hands-on minority owner, Brady has been a first-year failure in putting together anything close to a respectable NFL team.
