Tigers make Casey Mize injured list decision on Friday
Detroit Tigers starting pitcher Casey Mize recently exited his start against the Los Angeles Angels with an injury. After recently placing closer Kenley Jansen on the injured list, Mize was also placed on the IL on Friday, the team announced.
“The Tigers today placed RHP Casey Mize on the 15-day injured list (retro to May 28) with right adductor inflammation. RHP Beau Brieske has been activated off the 60-day injured list and added to the 26-man roster. To make room for Brieske on the 40-man roster, LHP Brant Hurter has been transferred to the 60-day injured list,” Tigers PR announced on X, formerly Twitter.
Losing Mize to the IL is obviously far from ideal. The right-handed hurler has turned in a strong 2.27 ERA across nine outings on the mound.
