This Scottie Scheffler-Jordan Spieth PGA comparison will catch fans’ attention
Scottie Scheffler has been the dominant player on the PGA Tour for several seasons. However, he did not win the Masters or the PGA Championship this year, and the fact that he did not take home the title in either of those major championships have led several of the game’s analysts to try to pick apart what is going wrong with his game.

Finding nits to pick in Scheffler’s game may be a fool’s errand. While his dominance does not compare to Tiger Woods or Jack Nicklaus when those two golf legends were at the top of their games, Scheffler is clearly a player who has all the skills to find himself as the winner of any tournament that he enters.
However, Shane Bacon has found fault in Scheffler’s recent performance. Bacon is an analyst for CBS and a noted golf author, and he believes that Scheffler’s recent play is similar to that of Jordan Spieth. That opened eyes among his panelists, because Spieth’s best run on the PGA Tour did not have the length or depth of the run that Scheffler has had.
Even though Scheffler has won just one tournament this year — the American Express Tournament in January — he still ranks first in FedEx points with 2,711 points, and that puts him ahead of Cameron Young, Matt Fitzpatrick, Si Woo Kimm and Collin Morikawa. Those golfers have joined Scheffler in the top five.
On the other hand, Spieth ranks 44th with 673 points. As a result, that would not seem to be an apt comparison. Additionally, Scheffler has earned $11.6 million this season. Spieth has not won any tournaments this season and he has earned $2.6 million this season.
